SANT VICENC, Cala Molins
Arriving in Mallorca from Barcelonawas nice and easy as was the car pick up that got us off and into the traffic in no time. the hours drive North/East was easy and roads were good all the way to Sant Vicenc. We were staying in the Groupa Hotel Molins whixch is located right on the beach and the views are crazy amazing looking out across the bay to Cape Formentor

The view changes with every mood of the weather and the colour changes with it so its great to see some of the variation we were experiencing

On the beach the Hotel dominates but it was really very nice and we enjoyed the experience immensely. we spent a lot of time swimming and under the umbrellas on the beach to escape the heat.

The Hotel pool and terrace resturant was stunning and the food was fabulous so it was great to grab both lounge chair and a table for lunch as there was nothing better and how could anything match that view .

Everyday was just stunning and on our last day we were joined for lunch by our Friends Andrew and Melinda Blake who happened to be in Mallorcaat the same time. we did not bother getting the car out at all as there was no point going anywhere when it was so delightful right here.

ALCUDIA
On our way to Arta for the night we stopped off in Alcudia for visit as we had read some good things about the town and it turned out to be true with a great set of original walls and plenty of street wanderings and shopping ops.

We had a nice lunch and then explored as much as we could before getting back in the car and heading to Arta.

CAPE FORMENTA on the Badia de Pollenca

ARTA
Our daughter has told us to visit Arta and we decided it was worth an overnight stay and a wander around the old town as the guide books gave it abig wrap.

The Town is all honey stone and it has some fabulous old buildings and history galore especially up on the hilltop. Our Hotel the Forn You, had a lovely little roof top pool with great views over the town, up to the sanctuary on the hill ans the mountains that surround the town

The Hotel was three buildings linked by a central coutyard and all very nice indeed. We enjoyed a magnificent meal at the resturant and did a good wander of the town centreThe Stairs led up to the Mirador d’Arta and the Santuari de Sant Salvador which have a history and as a fortress that protected the town for hundreds of years

The fertile plains stretched out for miles with Olive groves and vinyards the main crops.

PLAYA CALA ANGULIA
On our way from Arta we found a beautiful beach to stop into for a swim and lunch. The coast is littered with such bays and its all about finding the right one where you can park and also get space on the beach. We researched and found a beauty which also delived a great beachfront resturant as well. the water was just devine and we spent a few hours just floating around and then feasting in the shade so a great choice for a stop

The Villas on the seashore were a mix of modest homes set in the forests to huge mega Villas that jumped out of the landscape.

PORT DE LA COLONIA DE SANT JORDI
We were not 100% sure we had chosen the right location for our next stay but ended making a great choice. White sandy beach, a myriad of fabulous food options, a spacious lovely apartment opposite the beach with a big balcony and AC and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area foir a 4 night stay.

There are beaches everywhere you look and all seem to have resturants attached. And this one was gem located on Cala Galiota called Cassai Beach House resturant. Just a 400m stroll for us along the waterfront and we landed in astunning beach front setting that was both peacful and vibrant as the locals were having fun on the beach until the sun sets.

The Main beach we were staying ion was like a mini Noosa heads in ways as everything opened out to the seashore and was primarily pedestrian access only so it was very popular from dawn to after midnight. that did not trouble us as it was not noisy just family vibrant and fun.

The beach ends at the Marina and so there is plenty of comings and goings but everything is very quiet. Beach front dining with our toes in the sand along with seafood slendours everywhere we looked made this a very special place.

The beaches to the east and est are endless with some of the whitest sand on Mallorca and the locals are all over it making the most of the very uncrowded opportunities that await just another 15 mins walk away. even the Aquarobics crew take a walk to find their own slice of paradise.

Each little bay opened up old fishing huts and peopless bays with the odd naturist couple here and there.

from Playa Es Port and Cala Allot de na Guardis looking back to the main town early in the morning with just me and one other swimmer enjoying the delight.

SANTANYI
We lucked the market weekend in this vibrant regional capital town on a day trip from Colonia and wow what a market, we ate, we drank and we spent and it was all good. huge crowds come in from the coast and from Parma as well as iots well knoiw for its quality of goods and produce.

CALA LOMBARDS
After the markets and wanderings around Satanyi we headed down to the closest beach to see if we could find a park and not have to walk to far for parking as the 35 deg heat was too much for us. at first we were defeated as it looked like a fewKms would be all we could do but we decided to head out towards the residential estremes on the caost and lucked a spot just 100m from the stairs the locals use to access the water and beach at Cala Lombards

It was crowded being a sunday but after navigating a tricky rock hop track we made it onto the shore and squeezed ourselves into a spot against the rock wall in the shade and claimed it as our own. Despite some incursions from new arrivals we saw them off with a skirmish and managed to get about an hours peace to enjoy swins as needed. It was a beautiful spot but just too busy for our stayle but very glad we found it. Such a stunning bay and vista.
