Koh Samui Thailand 2010, with Yoga on tap.

The Absolute Sanctury Resort was our destination on Koh Samui and having met Beth at the Bangkok Airport hotel overnight after her flight in from London we were keen to hit the Yoga Mat as soon as possible.

We headed straight to the resort and settled in with a nice vego lunch and followed that with our first massage followed by a Yoga class whilst the tropics opened up in a barrage outside and then within 2 hrs the sun was out again.

The heat and humidity sent us to the beach the next day at Choeng Mon for some warm water, a beachside massage lunch under the trees.

Afternoon yoga was called for followed by some Nap time and then Dinner in house again for convenience sake.

We hired a car for the next 3 days to make getting around much easier and visited lots of out of the way bays and beaches and enjoyed the crystal clear waters and no crowds. A beautiful dirt cheap lunch was enjoyed in the shade of a thatched hut overlooking this beautiful bay, pure bliss.

A few KM’s along the north coast at Bo Phut we visited the Wat Plai Laem and the Big Buddha a series of extravagant temples that appeal to the locals and tourists alike.

The Tiles were hot, so hot and no shoes allowed.

We booked in to a fabulous Fishermans beachfront Thai restaurant at Bo Phut that is one of the islands finest that night and it did not dissapoint and after a stroll along the beach and the strip we settled into one of the beach bars on the sand for a few cocktails to finnish offa wonderful day.

Another glorious day and after morning yoga it was off to discover a new beach down south past chaweng towards lamai. we took a punt and found the best most private beach on the island and snuck thru a resort to discover a slice of paradise, beautiful granite boulders white sand, massage and lovely lunch all on 200m of sand.

We splashed out that night and dined at the Karma resort Rockpool restaurant, fine food, wine and sensational setting sitting above the rockpools below.

The next day we decided to visit the waterfalls and headed further south and found the tourist trap jungle 4WD trek that was a lot less that expected but the funny bit was Beth deciding to walk the supposed 30 minute trek into the jungle( that was really only 10mins so that lazy buggers like us would take the $10 truck ride) and missed the waterfall meeting point to continue heading up the mountain for 40mins until the track ran out, good thing she ad mobilr coverage.

after that little adventure we stopped for lunch at “the cliff” restaurant overlooking crystal bay and after lunch a good long swim was in order

Back to the sanctury for some R&R after all that adventure then off to the Sixth Sense Resort for Dining on the rocks, a unique suspender dining experience over the rocks on the point, brilliant food, an amazing experience all round.

The next day was just perfect so we got the bus down to Chaweng Beach after breakfast and Yoga to join the crowds but it was worth it, beautiful crystal clear clean blue water and the best beachfront massage ever The 300 Bhat ($10)one hour full body oily workover is unlike anything we have had so Ann had 2.

The water was so beautiful we did not want to leave until our lunch starved tummies forced us to head to the strip where after a bit of shopping we found a lovely thai restaurant to satisfy our culinary desires.

The next day it was time to go home but before we left we grabbed a few hours at Chaweng beach again the next day and another massage apeice to prepare for the journey home.
