Fiji, The Coral Coast & Tokariki Island: April 2000

THE CORAL COAST:

We were fortunate enough to find a fantastic house with a chef just above the reef edge on the Coral Coast near the Sigatoka river and Sand dunes with great views out to reef.

With its own swimming pool and seperate sleeping quarters it was at the height of luxury so we really made the most of it. After a few nights the girls got a bit scared of all the strange noises so they moved into the main building with us for the remainder of the stay. Eating out on the deck and enjoying fantastic fresh meals made by our cook was fantastic for breakfast and dinner every day. The sunsets were sensational everyday.

Natadola beach was just a short drive away and when we arrived we had found paradise, a stunning long white sand beach that wrapped around a small island that led to the local village and a reef out the front that would be surf able at times. And all of this on the Main island. It is no wonder that a huge resort is being planned for this paradise so lets hope they don’t stuff it up.

TOKORIKI ISLAND RESORT:

Next stop was Tokoriki island, a quick boat ride from Denaru and we landed on this fabulous island hideaway. the Bree was big and beautifully appointment and the beach, views and facilities were ideal for us with that small resort feel we much prefer.

this was a real treat to stay here and we explored and chilled to the max. The waters right out the front of our Burre were so amazing we just lived on the beach every second we could.
